Pilates is a low impact yet challenging mind and body workout.  It focuses on lengthening and strengthening the muscles.

Pilates helps your body to move more efficiently and with ease.  Joints and muscles need to be properly aligned to enable joints to move freely becoming less prone to injury.

We work on Balance to help prevent falls and to develop stabilising muscles.  We work on mobility to aid nourishment of the spinal discs by increasing blood supply.

Every Pilates exercise is very precise, aiming to improve:

  • Flexibility
  • Core Strength
  • Back Strength
  • Pelvic Floor strength
  • Posture
  • Symmetry and Balance (thus helping to prevent falls)
  • Concentration
  • Sports performance and prevent injuries
  • Joint mobility
  • Co-ordination
  • Improve your health and calm your mind

Pilates can be practiced by men and women of all ages at different levels.

“Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. You first purposefully acquire complete control of your own body and then through proper repetition of its exercises you gradually and progressively acquire that natural rhythm and coordination associated with all your subconscious activities. A few well-designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence, are worth hours of doing sloppy calisthenics or forced contortion.”
